Say hello to the new kid, children. *listens* Okay, well, there aren't that many people here to say hello to you, but you've got me, at least. So here's what you need to do to establish yourself at RPI.
1. Familiarize yourself with the rules of RPI and make sure we're a good fit for you. Check out the BBCode Guide as well, even if you already know BBCode, because Proboards has it set up a little differently from most forums.
2. Decide whether you want a canon character or an OC (original character). If you choose to go with a canon, check the list of unavailable characters to make sure the one you want isn't on there, then message me and ask for the person you'd like. If you decide on an OC, design the character, including his or her passions, goals, and personality. Choose a face claim, or the person you'll use for your character's pictures.
3. Create a Proboards account. Upload a profile picture for your character and set your character's location, gender, and birthday if you'd like.
4. Message me to apply for a personal board. This is a little space for you to use as you like: bio, news feed, photo collection, journal, solos, casual RP outside of a setting, OOC conversation, or all of the above. I'm the only one who can make you a board, so send me a PM and let me know that you need one.
5. Decide whether you want a private house, a public house, or one of each. Private houses have restrictions on who can enter the board, who can see things, who can post, etc. Sex RP is allowed here. Public houses have no restrictions, and sex RP is banned, but these are usually more convenient. Send me a message indicating what type you want, and I'll create a board for you when I get online. As stated, you can have one of each.
6. Start roleplaying! You'll have the most fun here if you get involved and make friends. Hit up the City for some entertainment, visit some other personal boards, or chat with other online players in the Shoutbox at the bottom of every page.
Above all, have fun. If you have any comments or suggestions, feel free to message me or another staff member. Maybe even check out a Special RP and see if you want to join. Hope to see you around!
